Jessica Simpson Charity Mission |
Jessica
Simpson made a detour from the red carpet to visit to the
U.S. Congress, where she made an appeal for a group that
aids children afflicted with facial deformities.
The news.xinhuanet.com relates that Simpson is supporting
“Operation Smile" - a nonprofit organization that provides
reconstructive surgery to children with facial deformities.
According to the star, Simpson went to Kenya to see the
group work and got to watch a surgeon operate on a child's
face. Taking part in the program has been an "eye-opening
and heart-warming" experience.
Jessica’s father and manager, Joe Simpson said that when it
"became obvious that it was not just a state dinner" and
"more of a fundraising event," it went against the purpose
of why they were there, stated by news.xinhuanet.com.
Joe Simpson also insisted that he and his family are "huge
fans" of Bush and that "Jessica loves the heck out of him."

Jessica Simpson Snubs Bush |
Jessica
Simpson loves President Bush. She's just not a big fan of
Republican fundraisers.
The Hollywood starlet and tabloid cover girl was in Congress
on Thursday to lobby for Operation Smile, a nonprofit
organization that provides reconstructive surgery to
children with facial deformities. Everyone was asking,
however, why she turned down an invitation to attend a
Republican fundraiser with Washington's top star, the
president.
"We went back and forth, and we could never get the details
worked out," said her father and manager, Joe Simpson. "When
it became obvious that it was not just a state dinner, it
was more of a fundraising event — that is the wrong purpose
of why we are here."
Joe Simpson was adamant that his family are "big supporters"
of the president.
"We are huge fans of him and of his family, his girls,"
Simpson said. "Jessica loves the heck out of him."
In fact, Simpson said they were still trying to squeeze in a
meeting with the chief executive.
"We are trying to get in and out," he said. He could not
confirm whether a meeting would take place.
Simpson, a singer best known for her denim-cutoff-wearing
role in the movie "The Dukes of Hazzard" and the MTV reality
show "The Newlyweds" with estranged husband Nick Lachey,
came to Washington to promote Operation Smile.
The actress, who refused to comment on the fundraiser, is
scheduled to head back to New Mexico later Thursday to
resume shooting in that state of her movie, "Employee of the
Month," according to publicist Rob Shuter.
Rep. Tom Reynolds, chairman of the Republican campaign
committee hosting the fundraiser, said the group had hoped
Simpson would attend.
"I know my daughter's a fan. She's a celebrity that was
going to come. Now she's a celebrity that is not," Reynolds
told reporters. "We invited her because she likes to come to
functions from time to time, and now I guess from what I'm
hearing she's not."

Simpson Plans To Adopt Before Having Kids Of Her Own |
| Jessica
Simpson has been inspired to follow her adoption dreams by
celebrity activist Angelina Jolie. The newly-single pop star
once begged her father to let her adopt a Mexican orphan
during a trip to Latin America when she was a teenager, and
now she's seriously considering giving a child a home and a
better life. It's all thanks to actress Jolie, who has
adopted two kids and is carrying boyfriend Brad Pitts first
child. Simpson says, "I think Angelina Jolie has done
amazing, amazing things and the international adoption rate
just since her (decision to adopt) has skyrocketed. It's
unbelievable. I want to adopt and I plan to adopt before I
have my own kids." Simpson is hoping she can inspire other
wannabe mums to follow her example by urging politicians to
help cut through red tape that prevents certain couples from
adopting. The pop star is planning to speak to President
George W Bush about the issue, urging him to make it easier
for interracial couples to adopt.

may want to keep music as just a hobby.
She said: "Music will always be my passion, but I don’t have

me anymore.
"I feel like I don’t have to do it as a career. I can just
rest in it and just be."

your a new artist and having the pressure to sell the
