As a fitness trainer
to the stars and the one responsible for getting
JESSICA SIMPSON, his childhood pal, into her daisy
dukes, Mike Alexander knows how important it is to
stay fit all year around, even during the hot summer
months.
We all know how hot and humid the summer months can
be, but that doesn't mean that you need to stop
exercising all together. By following some of Mike's
favorite tips, you can look hot without getting
burned by the summer heat, and he'll even
demonstrate some of the exercises used to get
Jessica in such awesome shape for her role in The
Dukes of Hazzard.
Stay Hydrated -- Drink fluids before, during and
after workout. Water can sometimes get boring, so
mix it up with an alternative like iced tea, which
is just as hydrating and has the added benefit of
antioxidants.
Avoid Peak Daylight Hours -- When exercising
outdoors, try doing it in the early morning or later
in the day, avoiding the sun's strongest hours.
Paths and roads are bound to be less congested
during off-peak hours, and don't forget the
sunscreen!
Choose Lightweight Clothing -- Clothing made of
wicking materials will keep your body cool and dry
by drawing sweat away from the skin to the surface
of the clothes where it can easily evaporate.
