IS Joe Simpson turning his daughter Jessica into the Star Jones of the West Coast? Press releases went out Monday about Jessica's 24th birthday party Saturday night at her parents' house in Encino, Calif., noting there were "Silverspoon gift bags" with "Lush cosmetics, Benefit makeup, Poko Pano Brazilian bikinis, Theory clothing," and more. Sources say Joe arranged for all the goodies in exchange for publicity - as Jones did for her wedding to Al Reynolds. Meanwhile, we hear People magazine paid over $100,000 for "exclusive rights" to the party, including pictures, and had a reporter there. People said: "Over the weekend, we bought some photos from an agency . . . We don't ever discuss numbers, but it was far from $100,000. No reporters (including ours) were allowed inside the party."
