Cincinnati native
Nick Lachey and wife Jessica Simpson are not getting
divorced, Simpson told Us Weekly after the release
of a story on the Internet this week.
E! Online reported Tuesday that Simpson had filed
for divorce but removed the story about an hour
later. Wednesday, E! apologized, saying that a
"draft report" was "accidentally disseminated" and
that the couple had not filed for divorce.
"It is completely false and we would sue them if
they hadn't taken it town," Simpson told Us Weekly
in a story on the magazine's Web site, which also
promises to deliver the latest on the marriage and
Simpson's bikini body secrets in its next issue.
Lachey, a 1992 graduate of the School for Creative
and Performing Arts and former member of boy band
98°, wed fellow singer Simpson in October 2002.
The couple found new fame by starring in MTV's
"Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica," the reality show about
their much-maligned marriage. The second and third
seasons of the series, which ended in March, will be
released on DVD June 7.
